On June 1st, 2022, the XuFancheng Culture Study Center successfully organized an enriching seminar on India-China Cultural and People-to-People Exchange at the picturesque RKN Beach Resort in Pondicherry. The event brought together scholars, artists, and enthusiasts from both countries to celebrate and explore the lives and contributions of two great scholars: Subramania Bharathiyar and XuFancheng.
Highlights of the Seminar:
1. Seminar on Great Scholars:
The seminar delved into the inspiring lives and works of Subramania Bharathiyar, the iconic Indian poet and freedom fighter, and XuFancheng, the esteemed Chinese scholar and philosopher. Discussions centered on their visionary ideas, literary contributions, and the lasting impact of their work on cultural exchanges between India and China.
2. Drama Performance:
A captivating short drama on Subramania Bharathiyar was performed by talented cultural artists from Mumbai and Pondicherry. The performance beautifully portrayed key moments from Bharathiyar’s life, highlighting his passion for freedom, social justice, and cultural unity.
Esteemed Guests:
The event was graced by the presence of Chinese Ambassador to India, Sun Weidong, and Madam Ambassador Bao, who were the chief guests. Their participation underscored the importance of cultural diplomacy and the enduring ties between India and China.
