Speech by Bikash Kali Das at the farewell ceremony of Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong and Dr Bao Jiqing.

Good Evening. Your Excellency Ambassador Sun Weidong, Madam Ambassador Dr. Bao Jiqing , Honorable Counsellor Zha Liyou , Honorable Counsellor Kong Xianhua, Madam Ma Jia , Respected officials from Chinese Embassy New Delhi, Kolkatta and Mumbai.
Today I have the honour, to greet Your Excellency Ambassador Sun Weidong and Madam Ambassador Dr. Bao Jiqing , 师老包 as they brings to a conclusion of their duties as an Ambassador to India.
I wish the very best to the “Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party” and send our Congratulations on the victory of the Congress.
Though I am happy about your successful tenure in India and your return back to the motherland China, but somewhere in our hearts, we all will miss you both a lot. Your Excellency Ambassador, We have never seen someone amazing like you, you are a great leader, a guide, and a mentor at the same time. It’s hard to see you leave. It’s very hard for us to see you leaving India, I will miss you, Laoshi Bao Jiqing 师老包 , you have been always moral support, a teacher, and a guide.
Your Excellency’s duty in India was appreciated not only because of your professional engagement but also because of your discretion and cordiality.
We all appreciated your kindness and love for our students. We all enjoyed your friendship and the kind relations that you and your wife established with the members and students of the XuFancheng Culture study centre. We all acknowledge also the important presence of Dr. Bao Jiqing at your side and the contribution she has successfully offered as the Madam Ambassador. It is sure that we are going to miss you both.
Your Exellency during your period in India, You inaugurated the XuFancheng Culture study centre, during the remarkable occasion marking the 111th birth anniversary of Prof. XuFancheng and celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic and cultural relations between India and China which will be written in history of India China relations in golden words and we assure that we will work in developing this project to help build more pragmatic cultural and people to people exchanges between our peoples. Your Legacy will be always carried by our students from XuFancheng Culture study centre.
From XuFancheng Culture study centre we will bring more Interactive cultural events and educational programs. We will examine the main elements of cultural and people-to-people cooperation between our two civilisations and would like to provide more opportunities for rapprochement based on the areas that make possible the development of appropriate interaction between India and China in the fields of religion, traditional health practices, Chinese diaspora in India, education, art, tourism, Cultural and People-to-people exchanges etc. Your Excellency Ambassador Sun Weidong you will be always remembered as the main Founder of the “XuFancheng Culture study centre”.
Both China and India follows the same idea of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam from the Maha Upanishad. Your Excellency we request you to provide us Opportunity to establish our XuFancheng Culture study centre branch in China for which we request support from the Chinese Govt. We seek more Chinese and Indian Youths, students and peoples from different spheres in life to join us and promote the philosophical ideas of Prof XuFancheng and promote the great India-China cultural relations . Like Prof. XuFancheng and other great historical philosophers and translators their works needs to be promoted among the Chinese and Indian population , only through which we can enhance the India-China relations. Indian Youths like me who wants to promote Chinese culture and India-China cultural relations should be supported and provided some mechanism from the esteemed “Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party” and the Chinese Embassy in the form of projects, grants and other opportunities.
We understand and attach the great importance of India-China Cultural and people to people relations and would like to work with the Chinese Embassy at New Delhi, India to develop bilateral relations and enhance trust, and pragmatic cooperation, and promote a closer development partnership between our peoples to a new higher level.
Your Excellency I am hopeful that in near future I will get a chance to meet you again and I get an opportunity to learn from you again. It will be a privilege to stay connected with you. I again thank you both for helping us initiate the “XuFancheng Culture study centre”. On behalf of “XuFancheng Culture Study Center” and our students, I Wish Your Excellency Ambassador Sun Weidong and Madam Ambassador Dr. Bao Jiqing both Good Health and Good Luck for all future endeavours
