White Town, Pondicherry’s Rue Saint Gilles Street is home to Bharathi Park. There are several historic structures, stately structures, and modern monuments dotting the area. The majestic white building known as the Aayi Mandapam is the park’s major draw. It is a Greco-Roman building that Louis Gurre constructed in 1854. Four equal sections of the park are separated by walkways. The park features lovely fountains, manicured grass, and flowerbeds. The Bharathi Park is named after the great Tamil Nadu poet Bharathisadan.

The park’s attractiveness is enhanced by the presence of the famous Park Monument, also known as the Aayi Mandapam, in its centre. It is dedicated to the well-known female courtesan Aayi. Raj Nivas, the Legislative Assembly, the Ashram Dining Room, the Government Hospital, Hotel Qualité, the Cercle de Pondichéry exclusive club, and the Romain Rolland library are additional notable tourist destinations close to the park.
