Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his heartfelt commendation to Professor Wang Zhicheng for his remarkable contributions to the promotion of yoga and Indian cultural traditions in China. The Prime Minister’s letter of appreciation was formally presented to Prof. Wang by the Consul General of India in Shanghai, Mr. Pratik Mathur, during a special ceremony held at Zhejiang University, Hangzhou. Professor Wang has long been a bridge between Indian and Chinese cultural heritage. Notably, during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Hangzhou for the G20 Summit in 2016, Prof. Wang personally presented his Chinese translation of the Bhagavad Gita to the Prime Minister.His scholarly impact is both deep and far-reaching. Prof. Wang’s translation of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras is now in its 15th reprint, reflecting the growing interest in yoga across the region.
