
75 Glorious Years: Celebrating Indian Independence Day 2022 by XuFancheng Culture Study Center

India celebrated its 75th year of independence on 15th August 2021, marking a significant milestone for the nation. The celebrations began on Friday 12th March 2021 and will continue until Tuesday 15th August 2023. The event, named ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, meaning ‘celebration of the nectar of independence’, will span two years and commemorate India’s freedom from British colonial rule.
To celebrate this historic event, the “XuFancheng Culture Study Center” organized an event at the “Art and Craft Village” in Pondicherry, with the support of the “Government of Puducherry’s Department of Tourism”. The event aimed to bring together 75 artists from Pondicherry to perform in honor of the 75th year of independence.


The event showcased a range of music and dance performances, including Mangala isai by Nadaswara vidwan dhandapani and group, Bharatnatyam performance by Saathvika Bakthan students, Kids dance by Narthanalayams school of dance, Patriotic song choir by Puducherry students, Folk song by Deepika, Ghazal, western music and fusion dance, and an orchestra by Nalini vittobane and team Radiopetti band. The artists came together for a grand finale, paying tribute to the motherland.
The theme of the 75th Independence Day celebrations is ‘Nation First, Always First’. It emphasizes the importance of putting the nation’s interests before personal interests and serving the country with dedication and commitment.
